📘 Rules & Regulations
At Muthukaruppan Memorial Arts & Science College, discipline and responsibility form the foundation of our academic and social environment. The college expects all students to abide by a code of conduct that promotes respect, safety, accountability, and academic integrity. These rules are framed to maintain a secure and productive campus atmosphere and to ensure that every student grows into a responsible individual.
🔹 General Code of Conduct
- Punctuality is mandatory. Students must attend classes on time and follow the academic calendar without fail.
- Dress Code: Students must wear decent and appropriate attire. Uniforms (if prescribed) must be worn as per schedule.
- Identity Cards must be worn around the neck and shown upon request by staff or security personnel.
- Mobile Phones are to be kept in silent/off mode during class hours. Usage is restricted in classrooms, library, and labs unless permitted by faculty.
- Cleanliness must be maintained in classrooms, restrooms, corridors, and the campus at large. Littering is strictly prohibited.
🔹 Academic Regulations
- Students must maintain minimum 75% attendance in every subject to be eligible for end-semester exams.
- Participation in internal assessments, seminars, and assignments is compulsory for internal marks.
- Plagiarism, cheating, or malpractice in examinations or assignments will lead to disciplinary action.
- Students must submit lab records and project work on time as per departmental instructions
- Library books must be returned within the due date. Damage to books will attract fines or replacement.
🔹 Behavioral Guidelines
- Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus and in hostels. Strict action including suspension or expulsion will be taken as per UGC Anti-Ragging guidelines.
- Respectful behavior must be shown towards faculty, staff, and fellow students. Misconduct or use of abusive language will not be tolerated.
- No student shall form any unauthorized group or organization within the college.
- Students shall not indulge in any political or disruptive activity within the campus.
- Vandalism or damage to property (furniture, labs, electronics) will result in fines and disciplinary measures.
🔹 Hostel Discipline (if applicable)
- Students must adhere to hostel timings and maintain silence after study hours
- Prior permission is needed from the warden for any overnight leave.
- Cooking inside rooms, misuse of electricity, or possession of prohibited items is strictly forbidden.
- Any violation may result in cancellation of hostel admission.
🔹 Digital & Online Behavior
- Students are expected to use college internet and computer systems responsibly.
- Cyberbullying, spreading false information, or uploading inappropriate content related to the college on social media will be treated as a serious offense.
- Participation in online learning platforms must be ethical and sincere.
🔹 Disciplinary Action
- Any violation of rules will lead to verbal/written warnings, suspension, cancellation of scholarships, or expulsion based on severity.
- A Disciplinary and Welfare Committee handles all complaints with fairness and discretion.
